I was tasked with recruiting 4 media buyers from Australia with specific experience in Google Ads management. I also needed to target applicants who were willing to contract on a per client account, per month basis.
The Approach
I set up strategic job listings on both LinkedIn and Upwork, with Australia as the location preference to attract local talent. My detailed job descriptions clearly outlined the contract structure and Google Ads expertise required.
The Result
After just 2 weeks, I was able to present 5 highly qualified candidates who were within budget, Google Ads accredited, and had extensive experience in the Australian market. All candidates were willing to work on the specified contract basis, giving my client options to choose from. 3 were ultimately hired, 2 for Google Ads, taking on 13 accounts between them and 1 was hired for Meta Ads when the need emerged. He has since become a lead media buyer for the company.

I deployed a specialised recruitment funnel with questions designed to identify automation skillsets, digital marketing agency experience, conscientious work attitude, and time zone compatibility. This approach allowed me to efficiently screen candidates based on multiple essential criteria.
The Result
The selected candidate exceeded expectations, combining technical knowledge with excellent communication skills. She hit the ground running, immediately building GoHighLevel automations and integrating with AroFlow. The client described her as "A great find!" and was impressed by her ability to handle business analysis and direct client interactions.

My client needed graphic designers and video editors to create paid social ad creatives for Facebook campaigns. The ideal candidates needed to follow instructions from media buyers, create square-format visuals, possess good written communication, manage time effectively, and produce innovative designs.

I designed a comprehensive recruiting questionnaire that captured all aspects of my client's needs. This allowed me to efficiently screen approximately 200 applications and identify candidates with both technical skills and the right soft skills for the position.
The Result
The final candidates completed trial tasks based on actual client briefs. Their exceptional and innovative designs impressed the client so much that multiple candidates were hired. This allowed the client to scale their Facebook ad creative production while maintaining high-quality standards across various accounts.

My client identified a need for greater automation and proprietary, specialised AI- enhanced systems to improve efficiency in his business. The ideal candidates needed to be able to work independently to identify areas where marketing activities could be enhanced with technology, and deliver solutions from the ground up.
The Approach
I designed a recruiting questionnaire that focused on capturing the critical information to identify if the candidate met the core criteria- that they have built systems from the ground up, and that they have built solutions for marketing teams.
The Result
The final candidate was hired on the strength of working with marketing teams while being able to showcase vast technical expertise, which I was able to verify via the interview process with questions about their preferred workflow and specific experiences. The hire hit the ground running and contributed significant value to the company, documenting existing CRM workflows, producing process documents, while impressively building a system- within just weeks of starting- using AI to track lead quality and job value for clients via data mining inbound CRM calls. This closed a lead value loop that gave the company significant insight into lead quality for each client campaign.
The Challenge
My client wanted a Junior Google Ads Specialist with transferable skills that he could mold into a great Google Ads Marketer, via teaching existing strategies. The challenge was to find a candidate with the right balance of background knowledge, but still be malleable and hungry enough to want to learn. The client wanted a bright mind who could take on self guided learning, and absoirb knowledge quickly.
The Approach
I designed a broader recruiting questionnaire that opened up the application process, welcoming candidates from all industries. This is because attitude and transferable skills were designated as more important than traditional study or experience, though they were still considered.
The Result
Having filled the shortlist with 8 worthy candidates, it was a challenge for the hiring team to select a single candidate. Eventually, a top candidate was chosen, who earlier in the process I had identified as a strong choice due to significant transferable skills in terms of SEO experience- where strategy, research and understanding search keywords are also key, who having been in a client-facing and implementation role with 2 years experience seemed like the perfect fit and motivated to transition to paid ads.
